The government-owned and controlled gaming corporation in the Philippines, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), announced it secured a prestigious certification earlier this week. PAGCOR revealed Thursday it secured International Standardization Organization (ISO) 9001:2015.
The recertification marked an important milestone for PAGCOR as this was the third consecutive time it secured the certification successfully. According to the government-owned and controlled gaming corporation, the recertification follows a three-day audit process that was conducted between December 19 and December 22, 2022, by DQS Certification Phil's Inc.
A statement released by PAGCOR explained that the ISO 9001:2015 recertification will be valid through March 21, 2026. Still, it's important to mention that it remains subject to "satisfactory surveillance audits." PAGCOR's management received the reaccreditation certificate on April 12, 2023, at a celebratory awarding ceremony that took place at the New Coast Hotel Manila.
Romeo Zamora, DQS' Managing Director, shared his excitement about PAGCOR's latest achievement. He explained that the recertification gives the company a chance to level up its gaming operations while adhering to Corporate Social Responsibility regulations.
"Thank you for choosing DQS for entrusting this certification to us," said Zamora. Finally, the Managing Director pointed out: "Hopefully, we can still continue to give you added value assessments when it comes to your management system."
DQS' audit report acknowledged that PAGCOR's business operations meet the requirements for risk-based thinking and quality management systems. "It also implemented and maintained a management system in accordance with the applied standards," explained DQS.
The ISO 9001:2015 recertification by PAGCOR was acquired for its Corporate Offices located in Pasay, Malate and Ermita. The corporation has also recertified Casino Filipino (CF) branches located in Citystate, New Coast, Tagaytay and Angeles. On the other hand, CF branches in Cebu and Ilocos Norte were recently newly certified.
Alejandro H. Tengco, PAGCOR's Chairman and CEO, accepted the reaccreditation certificate together with members of the corporation's Board. Sharing his excitement about the latest achievement, the Chairman and CEO explained that the recertification reaffirms the efforts of all employees at PAGCOR.
He added: "This is proof that the various systems and types of management in an organization have been put in order." Tengco thanked all of the employees for their dedication and acknowledged that their hard work helped PAGCOR secure the latest ISO certification.
Tengco added that one of his priorities as a leader of the corporation will be to help secure ISO 9001:2015 certification for all of its gaming venues. Finally, he explained: "That is our goal and I commit as your Chairman and CEO that we will make sure that this will happen. Let's work together, let's make sure we get the ISO certification for the entire organization."
