The leading global entertainment company offering best-in-class hotels and casinos, MGM Resorts International, announced a new appointment. The company confirmed it expanded its Board of Directors by adding Ben Winston, an award-winning producer and director. Joining MGM Resorts' Board, he became the 12th member.
Winston has significant experience within the entertainment vertical with 31 Emmy nominations, as well as 12 Emmy Awards. Moreover, he is famous for becoming the youngest late-night show producer in 2015. Back then, Winston, who is also a founding partner of Fulwell 73, a leading production company, became the co-executive producer of The Late Late Show with James Corden.
Besides The Late Late Show with James Corden, he was an executive producer for CBS' The Grammy Awards, Carpool Karaoke for Apple TV+ and The Kardashians for Hulu. Winston is also famous for directing one of HBO Max's most-viewed shows, Friends: The Reunion.
Outside of the shows vertical, Winston also has significant experience with music specials. He has collaborated with globally recognized artists such as Adele, Beyonce and Jay Z, as well as Elton John. What's more, Winston played a pivotal role in the creation of music specials for artists such as Justin Bieber, Harry Styles, Sam Smith and Bruno Mars, among others.
Winston shared his excitement in a statement saying: "MGM Resorts is one of the premier gaming and entertainment companies in the world and I'm honored to serve in this leadership role." Finally, he added: "I'm looking forward to working with my fellow board members to drive growth, building the best experiences possible for our guests."
Paul Salem, the Chair of MGM Resorts' Board of Directors, was also excited to see Winston join the Board. According to him, Winston delivers a unique experience within the entertainment vertical which will be an incredible asset for the company as it grows further its entertainment and gaming offerings.
"Ben's creativity, passion and leadership will be most valuable as he advises the board and management on ways to continue driving unparalleled guests experiences today, while also innovating for the future," said Salem in conclusion.
MGM Resorts' CEO and President, Bill Hornbuckle, was similarly excited about the recent appointment. He said: "Ben has shown dynamic and creative leadership throughout his career, and we are thrilled to bring his expertise to MGM Resorts."
Hornbuckle pointed out that Winston joins MGM Resorts' Board at an exciting time, considering that the company plans to take its offerings to a new level. Finally, the CEO and President predicted that Winston will play a pivotal role and help MGM by delivering strategic guidance which will impact positively the company's growth strategy.
