Only recently, International Game Technology (IGT), the leading global gaming company, announced it achieved a top score on the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation's 2025 Corporate Equality Index (CEI).
Following this achievement, the company confirmed it reached another goal after it secured an important recertification.
Earlier this week, IGT revealed that the World Lottery Association (WLA), the international member-based organization of state-authorized lotteries, recertified its iLottery operations.
Per the announcement, IGT's iLottery operations matched WLA's Corporate Social Responsibility Standards as well as Responsible Gaming Framework for Suppliers.
As the Association is recognized for its high standards when it comes to responsible gaming, the latest recertification represents an important milestone for IGT, highlighting its dedication to limiting the impact of problem gambling by adhering to a global standard applicable to gaming suppliers and operators.
The recertification follows an extensive assessment by a WLA-approved company called Gambling Integrity Services.
The latter company analyzed IGT's lottery operations, conducting an assessment.
The recertification of the WLA also required an assessment by an independent auditor.
Ultimately, IGT successfully complied with the assessment of eight sections of the WLA standards, securing the recertification.
Among the processes that have undergone analysis are employee programs, marketing and advertising communications, engagement and reporting to stakeholders, as well as service development, among others.
Wendy Montgomery, IGT's SVP, Marketing, Communications and Sustainability, shared her excitement about the latest recertification in a statement.
"WLA's recertification of IGT's lottery and iLottery operations validates our responsible gaming industry leadership and our ongoing commitment to providing our lottery customers worldwide with effective responsible gaming technologies," she revealed.
She spoke about the importance of Advancing Responsibility as one of the company's primary pillars in its Sustainable Play program.
Finally, Montgomery added: "We operate with the highest level of integrity to protect our people, products and processes, and this certification endorses those efforts."
The recertification comes on the heels of another responsible gaming achievement announced by IGT.
The company was awarded only recently iCAP Ready accreditation by the National Council on Problem Gambling.
The achievement once again reaffirmed IGT's dedication to responsible gaming standards and ensuring player protection.
