IBIA and IXUP double down on US sports betting integrity

The International Betting Integrity Association, IBIA, has been building up a solid footprint in regulated and emerging markets to ensure that it has its hand firmly on sports betting markets that pose opportunities to businesses and sports fans, but also challenges to the leagues and bodies that administer these competitions and try to keep them free of manipulation.

As the United States has shaped itself as one of the biggest sports betting markets, it’s only natural that IBIA is seeking to expand its presence in the region, with a new partnership with IXUP, a data security and analysis company, now coming to the company’s aid. The pair will work to further strengthen the protection and integrity of sports betting contests led in the United States.

IXUP will also deliver its PlayPause program, which is designed to assist professional sports leagues to ensure that their players are not participating in prohibited gambling.

IXUP will also benefit from IBIA’s integrity monitoring solutions which is built on the premise of a network of regulated partners who flag irregularities in betting markets and make it much easier for custodians to detect fraud and act on suspicion of fraud.

Not least, IXUP is a company that provides voluntary-exclusion programs for regulators, and it is well-versed in building products that are tailored specifically to make sports safer, but also offer support to athletes who may be tempted or struggling with gambling.

Khalid Ali, IBIA’s Chief CEO, welcomed the chance to see the organization enter a partnership with a company that leverages best practices and has a clear commitment to making sports betting safer.

"Both IXUP and IBIA recognize the critical importance behind maintaining integrity within U.S. sports betting and we will continue to investigate new collaborative technologies and solutions to support operators in achieving this," Ali noted.

IXUP has the track record as it runs the National Self Exclusion Register in Australia, making it easier for locals to stay protected from excessive gambling.

IXUP is hoping to introduce the PlayPause solution as a unified option for all regulated gambling states in the United States and create a database of exclusion that encompasses the exclusion programs of every state, thus providing a national coverage and protection to consumers who may travel across state boundaries to engage in reckless gambling.

IBIA has been building up its presence in the United States and North America with several prominent partnerships, including with betPARX and Mohegan.
