Maryland and Pennsylvania, GiG's recent expansion.

Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) continues to expand in the North American market, with a particularly strong focus on the United States. The company has obtained a pair of licenses in Maryland and Pennsylvania with an Online Sports Wagering Operator License and a full Interactive Gaming Manufacturer License respectively, GiG revealed in a press release shared on its official website.

GiG General Counsel Claudio Caruana welcomed the news and stressed the importance that regulated markets and the United States, in particular, had for the company:

"Regulation will continue to drive the industry in North America, as markets mature, allowing us to support and protect operators and their customers, establishing suitable, robust frameworks for sustainable growth."

Effectively, the company is doubling down on its presence in the United States, with licenses previously secured in New Jersey and Iowa, and the company working in the North American region in general, through a license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario in Canada. These new licensures are allowing the company to consolidate its presence as a tier-one operator in the market, as it seeks to offer sportsbooks the best possible software solutions locally.

GiG offered insight into the type of licenses it had received. Thanks to the permit granted by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency, GiG will be able to offer its products and solutions with Crab Sports in the state. Crab Sports is confident that GiG is a worthwhile and suitable partner and the company has a proven track record in helping new brands set up their operations.

GiG Chief Commercial Officer Marcel Elfersy doubled down on GiG’s commitment to the North American region, and reminded that the company had been shortlisted with the EGR North America Awards’ full-service platform provider of the year category. Elfersy noted that the new licenses allowed the company to help create value for new and existing partners in the region and GiG was generally excited about the new possibilities that the licenses now presented.

The license obtained from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board is equally important to the company. GiG already has a planned brand expansion deal in place, details of which will be forthcoming. These two new licenses also allow the company to further expand its global reach as GiG already operates in more than 30 markets globally, and there are more coming.
