Gaming in Finland to host a webinar focusing on technical and license compliance

Gaming in Finland has announced an upcoming online webinar that will focus on helping stakeholders interested in the local iGaming system gain a technical and legal understanding.

Finland is set to re-regulate its market and break away with the Veikkaus-led state monopoly, switching to a model that invites private competition and hopefully boosts the country’s channelization rates.

The webinar is due to take place online on March 5, 2026, at 14:00 CET / 15:00 EET, and is fittingly called "How Finland is different."

The event is taking place only a full year before the Finnish gambling regulator begins processing online casino gambling applications on March 1, 2026, giving interested parties enough time to explore the landscape.

Specifically, the event wants to talk about how the Finnish market is expected to be different from other Nordic markets, such as Denmark and Sweden, even though some details are still missing.

Gaming in Finland founder Willem van Oort commented has welcomed the upcoming gathering, highlighting its importance:

"If you are considering entering the Finnish iGaming market, this webinar comes at a most opportune time: one or perhaps two weeks after the publication of the secondary legislation that is necessary to submit your license application. Naturally, we are particularly grateful to our local partners for helping us make sense of the license application process and the associated technical requirements."

The webinar will focus on a number of key topics and involve prominent speakers who have a good understanding of what the local market is going to look like when it’s finally launched.
