Finnplay, a company operating out of Finland, and servicing the Nordics’ sprawling iGaming market, has confirmed its readiness to support the transition of its home country towards a licensee-based model.
Finland, which currently operates under the monopoly of Veikkaus, had decided to liberalize its market, switching to a model where private operators compete against each other to obtain a license and offer the best possible product.
The change is anticipated to happen by January 1, 2027, and the emerging iGaming ecosystem would need a strong underpinning technology. With its deep understanding of the regional market, Finnplay has announced that it is prepared to help companies looking to expand into the Nordics, and the future Finnish market to do just that.
Finnplay stands out by virtue of its local expertise and deep regulatory knowledge, as well as ample experience in dealing with different regional markets and requirements from regulators. Finnplay has even boasted that it has secured several Letters of Intent, establishing it as the de-facto go-to platform provider for future online casinos in the country.
Finnplay Managing Director Jaako Soininen has welcomed this development and had this to say, commenting on it:
"Being based in Finland gives us unique insights into the opportunities and challenges of this market."
Soininen said that the company was proud to leverage its regulatory knowledge, innovative bend, and local expertise to bring the best value to operators in Finland.
"As a company operating in several regulated jurisdictions, we are strong advocates for robust and transparent regulation, which benefits both operators and players," Soininen concluded. Yet, it’s hardly just the Nordics that the company is well-represented in.
Finnplay provides services in the Netherlands and Hungary, and it is licensed in eight regulated markets as well as has an ISO 27001 certification. Finnplay has already translated its website into Finnish as it anticipates higher demand from local stakeholders.
Earlier this year, Finnplay teamed up with Mindway AI, a data and tech company leveraging cutting-edge solutions to prevent harmful gambling practices in players.
