Fanatics sportsbook and casino get underway in West Virginia

Fanatics Betting and Gaming has announced that it has launched its new sportsbook platform in West Virginia. The rollout happened late last week on Friday, with the mobile sports betting platform rolling out for both iOS and Android in the Mountain State.

Fanatics is taking advantage of the liberal regulatory framework in the state and it’s also launching with its online casino as part of the dedicated Fanatics Sportsbook app. The sports betting offer covers all popular sports in the United States, offering a vast selection of National Football League, College Football, Mixed Martial Arts, National Basketball League, and other events.

The casino also covers a range of games of chance, including blackjack, slots, roulette, and quite a few exclusively designed titles that are going to be available through the app specifically. The rollout is well anticipated as Fanatics finalized the acquisition of PointsBet US in August-September.

In West Virginia, PointsBet users will have their username, password, account balance, loyalty points, and RG safeguards automatically migrated to Fanatics Sportsbook. However, customers will have to download the dedicated Fanatics Sportsbook app on either iOS or Android to log in.

There has been a transit of assets from PointsBet to Fanatics that focuses on West Virginia, as well as Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, with this move allowing Fnatics to quickly gain a sound footprint in the United States.

Presently, the company is available in six states. Besides West Virginia, Fanatics Sportsbook has also gone live in Kentucky, Maryland, Ohio, Massachusetts, and Tennessee. The launch of the online casino in West Virginia marks a first for Fanatics, which has made the Mountain State the first place in the United States where it has launched the online gaming platform.

Fanatics’ main focus lies in sports betting and driving synergies between its well-established presence in the sports apparel vertical and carrying those over to the sports betting experience. Some of those efforts have misfired already, but the company is optimistic about the future, wielding a large war chest.

The addition of an online casino will further strengthen Fanatics’ ambitions for the regulated gambling market in the country.
