The recently concluded industry get-together iGB L!VE held on July 16-19 in Amsterdam the Netherlands was a huge milestone on the calendar.
With 9,000 attendees and a busy schedule that covered an extensive range of the industry’s most important topics, the event proved one of the most impactful and productive to date, bringing the industry’s crème of the crop together.
The gathering addressed pressing matters across the industry, with panels such as "From ads ban to slots bans: Is the Netherlands still competitive" and "Your business roadmap to the Balkans: Lessons from the locals," and it similarly included the iGB Launchpad initiative, designed to strengthen the startup ecosystem at the heart of the industry.
The event was the largest on record with industry professionals from 121 countries converging on the Dutch capital along with 300 exhibitors across 21,000 square meters. The event featured 50 speakers across 21 sessions. Casino Guru News was an official media partner of the event, and our colleagues from Casino Guru shared their impressions of the gathering.
Šimon Vincze, Sustainable & Safer Gambling Lead: "This annual of iGB Amsterdam was special to me as I was in a farewell mood due to the relocation to London next year. The fact that the event had new features, was even bigger and must have been moved to a different part of the expo made the goodbye even harder. The city has grown to my heart over the years, but the fact that the event connects affiliates and operators all over the world while providing relevant content makes it one of my priorities."
Dominik Vrábeľ, Affiliate Manager: "The event was really interesting, mainly because it was my first conference. It was very nice to see all my partners in person and not just "through letters." It certainly helps improve mutual relationships in this business. Each of us had approximately 15 meetings planned, so it was definitely not easy.
The most challenging part of the entire conference for me was that people stopped me even outside of the scheduled meetings, leaving me with no time to rest or causing me to be late for other meetings. Nevertheless, I realized that this is part of the experience and it is just how these conferences work. It was also very beneficial for me to meet new people and start communicating with them, creating potential new partnerships."
Adam Maclean, Deputy Casino Data Team Lead & Complaint Specialist, added: "Aside from the wide variety of companies and services in attendance, and the bustling energy of the iGB LIVE conference, for me, it was the people themselves that had a lasting impression.
Everyone clearly had a busy schedule, but all were keen to stop for a chat or to introduce themselves. Everyone was very approachable and friendly and some even stopped me to thank us for CG and for our work.
It was great to meet some of our partners in person, but also there were many opportunities to meet new people and find out more about different areas of the industry that I perhaps wouldn’t usually have access to."
