The leading lottery solutions, content and technology supplier, Brightstar Lottery, announced a donation to the international body focused on certifying professionals in the field of problem gambling and gaming, the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Certification Organization (IPGGC).
The donation, financial details of which were not publicly disclosed, designated Brightstar Lottery as the first lottery industry supplier to support the IPGGC.
A press release from Brightstar Lottery confirms that its donation to the IPGGC will immediately help the organization's programs.
Notably, the funding will contribute to IPGGC's new Collegiate Counselors Gambling Certification and Global Gambling Counselor Certification programs.
IPGGC has an ongoing goal of improving the quality of care, promoting responsible gambling practices and reducing gambling-related harm and gaming disorders across the globe.
The organization has established comprehensive certification programs and set a rigorous standard to help in the fight against at-risk and problem gambling with the ultimate goal of making a real difference.
Wendy Montgomery, Brightstar Lottery's Senior Vice President Branding, Communications and Sustainability, shared her excitement about the latest announcement.
"Being the first lottery industry supplier to financially support the IPGGC is a testament to Brightstar's commitment to comprehensive responsible gaming processes and practices," she explained.
Finally, Montgomery pointed out: "As a core piece of Brightstar's Sustainable Play program, responsible gaming is woven into the fabric of our company, and we are happy to back the IPGGC's mission to increase the availability and certification of responsible gaming professionals."
Jody Bechtold, IPGGC's Board of Directors President, was similarly excited and outlined: "The IPGGC applauds Brightstar for leading the industry in its commitment to supporting the certification of problem gambling professionals through this first-of-its-kind donation."
Last but not least, Bechtold pointed to Brightstar Lottery's solid understanding of the lottery vertical and their dedication to support responsible gambling and IPGGC's mission to deliver the highest quality of care and support to those who need it.
