Bally's Corporation names Kim Barker Lee EVP Chief Legal Officer

The global casino-entertainment company that continues to grow its presence within the iGaming and online sports betting vertical, Bally's Corporation, announced a senior level appointment. The company said Wednesday it hired the services of Kim Barker Lee as its new Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer.

As a part of Bally's, she will leverage her extensive experience and help support the company for different strategic initiatives on a global scale. What's more, Lee's appointment further complements Bally's operational diversification and global growth efforts.

In a statement released on December 7, 2022, Lee shared her excitement saying: "I'm pleased to be joining Bally's during such an exciting time." She acknowledged that there are multiple growth opportunities in front of Bally's as the company "advances its transformation into a global omni-channel gaming leader."

Lee added that during her extensive tenure within the gambling industry, she gained invaluable knowledge in implementing operational strategies for the gaming and lottery verticals. This knowledge, helps her understand what challenges may arise. Finally, Lee added: "I look forward to this next chapter and to playing a part in Bally's continued success."

Lee has a BA in American Studies from Yale College but she also holds a JD from the New York University School of Law. Her professional background includes a position with the Rhode Island Foundation's Equity Leadership Initiative Steering Committee. She was also a part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Committee of the American Gaming Association (AGA) and participated in US Congressman Jim Langevin's Diversity Advisory Committee.

Back in 2020 and 2021, Lee was also recognized in the Top 100 Diversity Officers awards by the National Diversity Council. What's more, she was recognized by Global Gaming Business' 25 People to Watch for 2020.

Before joining Bally's, Lee served as Global Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion with International Game Technology (IGT). Before that, she was a part of IGT's majority-owned affiliate, Northstar Lottery Group where she served as General Counsel and Vice President, Legal and Regulatory Affairs.

Her professional experience includes a General Counsel position with the Illinois Student Assistance Commission. In addition, Lee was also a partner at Altheimer and Gray and Pugh, Jones and Johnson, P.C., prominent law firms which were based in Chicago.

Bally's Chief Executive Officer, Lee Fenton, shared his excitement about the new appointment saying: "We are excited to welcome Kim to Bally's and are confident that she will make an excellent addition to our global leadership team."

He explained: "The depth and breadth of Kim's legal expertise, especially in gaming and lottery, will be instrumental as the company continues to expand and evolve during this period of significant growth." Last but not least, Fenton acknowledged that Lee has significant experience within strategic US markets such as Illinois and Rhode Island, which according to him will help Bally's in the future.
