Ahead of the upcoming National Football League (NFL) trade deadline, league insider and analyst Jason La Canfora suggests theDallas Cowboysare a leading contender to pursue Arizona Cardinals edge rusherJosh Sweat.
In an exclusive interview with Casino Guru News, the award-winning NFL reporter acknowledged the Cowboys aren't the only team that may consider pass-rushing help.
However, La Canfora explained: "Josh Sweat is someone NFL teams are trying to pry away, and Jerry and Stephen Jones will be at the head of that list."
The expert highlighted that Jerry and Stephen Jones have a strong relationship with the owners of Arizona, the Bidwell family.
"They've seen Josh Sweat up close from his time in the NFC East, and there's plenty of other teams, the Jaguars, the Bears, a long list of teams, even the Eagles who could use another pass rusher. But I'm told not to discount what Jerry and Stephen might do here," he continued.
According to La Canfora, Dallas may explore additional trade options with the New York Giants and Las Vegas Raiders.
"Kayvon Thibodeaux of the Giants is another option, and Maxx Crosby is the big fish there with the Raiders," the insider said.
La Canfora pointed out Jerry Jones' strong relationship with Mark Davis, the owner of the Raiders, suggesting Jones is very likely to talk to Davis.
"But the sense we're getting from our sources is Josh Sweat could be the guy, and that's a trade that certainly could happen well before the trade deadline, which doesn't come for another month," the NFL insider said in conclusion.
