The San Francisco 49ers are entering a season that is filled with uncertainty, both on and off the field, and there’s questions about who’s really in charge. That’s the take of Jason La Canfora, an award-winning NFL reporter, insider, and analyst.
The expert with more than 20 years of League experience said in a recent interview for Casino Guru News: "We’re not even going to get into Kyle Shanahan’s car accident that he was responsible for before the start of the season."
La Canfora pointed to the competitive environment the 49ers are in, and acknowledged the ongoing debate about who’s ultimately leading the franchise.
"There’s questions about who’s really in charge, and the San Francisco 49ers playing what’s probably the toughest divisions in the NFL," he explained.
Last but not least, La Canfora said: "We’ll see what the future holds, but it’s very fair to ask if the best of the Kyle Shanahan San Francisco 49ers is behind them."
A recent ESPN report confirmed Shanahan’s multiyear contract extension with the 49ers.
The announcement came ahead of his contract expiry which was set to take place in 2027.
