The world’s leading online poker destination, Americas Cardroom, announced its support for an engaging initiative during one of the most anticipated football events of the year.
Last week, the company confirmed it has become an official sponsor of new documentary series called Kicking Back.
The docuseries by High Times are hosted by Ethan Zohn, the former professional football player, cannabis advocate, cancer survivor and Survivor winner.
In the series, the host takes the viewers on an adventure that explores the intersection between football, cannabis and local culture.
Kicking Back, while coinciding with the timing of the World Cup, will also focus on stories and personalities that go beyond the football matches.
The new sponsorship complements Americas Cardroom's longstanding connection with cannabis-themed player experiences.
One such initiative is the annual High Five Tournament Series that commemorates 4/20 via themed events and guaranteed prize pools.
Moreover, the company recently rolled out its daily rebuy tournament, Puff Puff Pass, that offers a $420 guaranteed prize pool and three daily starting times.
"As part of the sponsored content, Americas Cardroom brand representative and high-stakes poker professional Martin Zamani will appear in exclusive segments discussing the relationship between poker and cannabis culture," a press release by Americas Cardroom reveals.
The filming of the new docuseries started in Los Angeles between June 27 and June 28, 2026.
Then, Kicking Back will move to Dallas between June 29 and July 1, 2026, coinciding with the World Cup’s knockout stage.
Finally, the docuseries will wrap up with filming in Miami between July 10 and July 12, 2026, focusing on the World Cup Quarterfinal match.
The sponsorship also aligns with Americas Cardroom’s 25th anniversary.
