There is hardly a more prominent celebrity in the music world who is also as prolific a gambler as Drake. The Canadian-born rapper, whose real name is Aubrey Drake Graham, has been gambling with vigor since 2022 at the very least.
His social media posts about six-figure wagers and catastrophic losses running in the millions have served as the butt of Internet humor, but for all its worth, Drake’s gambling habits are not as bad as a cursory glance at the news headlines suggests.
While Drake’s bets have earned media attention, praise, and more often than not, mockery, Drake’s actually in the black when it comes to his sports gambling. Today, Casino Guru sets out to track the rapper’s activity and whether Drake’s Curse is a myth or something to be wary of.
WINNERS! Surprisingly, Drake’s sports bets are winners as of the time of reporting! We will explain more in the lines that follow.
You may have heard about Drake losing significant amounts on UFC and NFL games, and you may have caught wind of Dricus Du Plessis making fun of the rapper for betting against him.
These spectacular losses have given birth to the "Drake’s Curse," a sort of Internet-borne humor that implies that if Drake is betting on you to win, your chances of losing are somehow increasing. Yet, Drake’s public track record suggests a different story.
He has wagered over $35.7 million across 92 sports wagers that have been publicly tracked via screenshots, almost all of which have been shared by the rapper himself. The Drake bets are spread across 10 sports in total, and they have fetched him $36.17 million as of November 2025, which includes the money staked.
In other words, Drake is up about $413,000 on his lifetime sports bets. However, these are only bets placed since March 2022, when the rapper started making waves in the sports betting community, averaging $436,000 per single bet.
As of November 2025, Drake has been enjoying a comfortable lead in his overall wagering activity, despite Internet humor to the contrary, and even the rapper’s own admission about "the other side of gambling." More on this later, for now, this is Drake’s sports bets at a glance:
Drake has bet on a total of 10 sports since he became active in March 2022 as a prominent sports bettor. The rapper’s most wagered on sport is the UFC, where he has placed 26 bets in total, and has earned a total of $14.48 million versus $13.45 million staked.
The NFL is his second most bet on sport, and Drake has placed a total of 19 wagers since he started gambling in public, fetching $7.77 million on $6.09 million total wagers. Basketball is his third most wagered sport, and he has placed 17 selections. He has placed $4.66 million in total bets and fetched $5.65 million back.
Surprisingly, cricket is Drake’s most successful sport. He has placed $1.65 million on three wagers and won all of them – fetching $2.65 million in the process. Here is a detailed breakdown of Drake’s total sports wagers by sport.
| Sport | Total | Wins | Losses | Wagered | Won | Cursed |
| NFL | 19 | 6 | 11 | $6.09M | $7.77M | No |
| UFC | 26 | 11 | 15 | $13.45M | $14.48M | No |
| Cricket | 3 | 3 | 0 | $1.65M | $2.65M | No |
| Basketball | 17 | 7 | 10 | $4.66M | $5.65M | No |
| NHL | 7 | 3 | 4 | $2.58M | $2.54M | Yes |
| MLB | 1 | 0 | 1 | $135.89K | $0 | Yes |
| Tennis | 3 | 1 | 2 | $760K | $345K | Yes |
| F1 | 2 | 0 | 2 | $443.40K | $9 | Yes |
| Boxing | 10 | 2 | 8 | $4.08M | $2.73M | Yes |
| Soccer | 4 | 0 | 4 | $1.90M | $0 | Yes |
Drake is a self-professed catastrophe when it comes to gambling. He has repeatedly admitted that his logic of picking selections defies any specific strategy, and he goes with his gut. He has cautioned others from not emulating him when it comes to his betting behavior.
However, it’s worth noting that the Internet has overblown his purported losses and has attributed unfair classifications of his gambling habits. Drake has made headlines mostly for his losses, but he has actually done fairly well when it comes to sports gambling at the very least.
Looking at his individual records, while he has lost most of his wagers (59), the 33 he has won are the ones that matter, demonstrating his ability to pick great selections when push comes to shove.
Regardless, Drake has a few things to say about gambling himself. He is all about "going luck" and has many anecdotes from his roulette games, for example, where he would ask a random bystander, usually a girl, to tell him what to bet on.
While the information presented in this article is based on publicly available information about sports bets placed by Drake, there has been a recent report indicating that the rapper may be gambling a whole lot more.
For example, a screenshot purportedly from Drake’s gambling account showed that he placed $125 million in a single month and ended up with a loss of $8.2 million. This report contradicts the visually confirmed individual bets placed by the rapper and is a caveat that we may not know the full extent of Drake’s gambling habits.
Going through $125 million in a single month, even if it’s the turnover, and not the collective amount that Drake held at any point, is still a behavior that goes well beyond what most gamblers do, even professional ones.
Overall, one thing is clear. Drake has been oversold as a habitually bad gambler who would curse a team or an athlete by simply backing them at a bookmaker. If anything, Drake is doing alright at least for now, with his net profit rather small (a single regular-sized bet for the rapper).
The Drake curse and Internet humor surrounding the rapper has another origin – it’s just fun and, yes, most sports bettors would not really be placing the type of wagers he does. It’s not just about the size of the wagers; Drake acts impulsively, too.
He used to call Israel Adesanya to tell him that he had gambled on him, which slightly frustrated the fighter. Interestingly, Drake has not been strictly team Adesanya either. He bet against him and won, as he also bet on him and won, too.
Notably, Drake lost $2 million on Adesanya against Pereira, but won $2.7 million on their rematch, with Adesanya dominating the next bout.
No, not really. Drake is actually not a bad gambler in the sense that he hasn’t lost too much on gambling. In fact, as of the writing of this article, he is ahead by a small margin.
Not at all! This is mostly to do with Internet humor and ribbing. Drake has actually won by betting on Israel Adesanya, as well as lost on him. Drake himself holds no grudges, and he just enjoys placing bets.
Drake has won a total of $36.17 million on his sports bets out of $35.7 million. This means he has won $436,000.
