Casino Guru Teambuilding 2025: What we loved the most

Every September, Casino Guru takes a break from the usual work routine to focus on something just as important: the people who make the company run. This year’s teambuilding brought together almost everyone, from brand-new hires to long-time colleagues, for two days packed with activities, some work, and a lot of fun.

From the moment people arrived at the hotel, it was clear this wasn’t going to be an ordinary workday. Even though the schedule was full as usual, it was also very flexible to give people the chance to mix work and play and then dive straight into games. Specifically, sports games. That’s why we call our September teambuilding The Guru Games.

Sports, teamwork, and a few bruises

For a lot of people, the tournament focused on sports games was the best part. Teams faced different challenges that tested their strength, coordination, and creativity. From archery to building a drivable formula-style car, each activity had a mix of fun and pressure that got everyone on their toes.

Michaela Banovcova, Product Coordinator, shared her experience: "Apart from the huge bruise I got from archery, everything was great. I still can’t believe we actually built… well, something resembling a car that we got to drive! Our team even came in second in the races. It was a rush!"

Juraj Torok, Casino Games Specialist, who’s been to several teambuildings, said: "The sports tournament was, hands down, the best we’ve had so far. There were tokens to collect, a mix of team and solo challenges… it all just clicked."

But not everyone was focused on winning. Designer Rebeka Mlynova said, "The best part for me was working with people I normally don’t team up with. Just figuring things out together made the day fun. It didn’t really matter to me what place we came in."

Surprisingly (or maybe not), Rebeka’s team did win the sports games and came second in the tricky quiz that was supposed to test general knowledge as we all athletic skills. Still, Rebeka insisted that just being there mattered more than any trophy.

"To be honest, every year I think about skipping teambuilding," she laughed. "But my colleagues always convince me to come, and I’m glad they do. It’s always worth it. And not just because we did remarkably well at this year’s Guru Games."

First-timers and fresh perspectives

Some colleagues attended our teambuilding for the very first time. Ludmila S., Software Tester, said she didn’t know what to expect: "I was curious but had no idea what it would be like. Meeting my team in person after months of online calls was amazing. We laughed a lot, and even though we didn’t sleep much, it was totally worth it. I realized even more that I’m in the right place, surrounded by great people."

Late nights became a common theme. Michaela, also a first timer, said one specific moment stood out: "Sitting on the terrace at midnight, wrapped in a blanket, eating warm soup, and talking with people…that’s a memory that will stay with me for a very long time. I can’t wait for more of that next year."

Petronela Kontos, Head of the Complaint Resolution Center, noted the relaxed vibe: "I loved having a chance to just hang out with colleagues, without discussing work all the time. The quiz was also one of my favorites, everyone joined in, and it was hilarious. Overall, the whole weekend was so smooth that boredom wasn’t even an option."

Evenings of masquerade ball and good food

The evenings had their own charm. The masquerade ball was a big hit. Colleagues came in masks and costumes, some elaborate, some silly. More importantly, they made the dance floor very lively. The photo booth was another favorite with people posing and taking home snapshots to remember the night.

For those who liked a little friendly competition, the poker tournament during casino night was a perfect choice. Other colleagues who preferred a quieter evening were able to relax after a long day, dipping their toes in the pool or enjoying massages.

Of course, none of it would have been nearly as enjoyable without a good strong coffee in the morning, tasty buffet-style lunches at noon, and a drink or two in the evening. The surrounding area and nature, just a short walk from the hotel, were perfect for stretching your legs after a hearty serving of duck and raspberry cheesecake, leaving everyone feeling ready for the working segment of the teambuilding.

Focused work, in smaller groups

Even with all the fun, work was still part of the weekend. Smaller group sessions allowed colleagues to plan next steps and sort out projects that had been tricky to discuss online. These sessions were voluntary, planned in advance and rather short to encourage creativity and productivity.

Juraj described the mix perfectly: "It was all about freedom. You could do a massage, work a little if you want, then relax in wellness, or just hang out at the bar. Everyone made their own fun, and that made this teambuilding feel really special."

What made The Guru Games stand out?

Maybe the best part of Casino Guru Teambuilding 2025 wasn’t a single activity, but the atmosphere that tied the entire time we spend there.

We were, once again, shown that when people connect outside of work, collaboration becomes more natural and rewarding.

Perhaps the real essence of this team event was connected to the values we live by on an everyday basis – giving people the freedom and the chance to connect and thrive. Together.
