A woman from Wayne County, Michigan, has vowed she would take things easier after winning a six-figure jackpot from the state lottery, allowing her to enjoy life more.
The 63-year-old winner was playing the Lady Luck 777 instant game when good fortune struck, and the sum $693,000 was eventually claimed.
Naturally, the winner, who chose to remain anonymous, had difficulty grasping what had happened, and there was confusion about the six-figure winning ticket as, upon scanning it, the ticket said that it needed to be claimed at the lottery’s headquarters.
At first, she thought that there surely had been a mistake. In fact, she won not one but three tickets in one go after purchasing all three at AAA Fuels at 3860 Dix Highway in Lincoln Park.
Out of the three tickets, only the last one didn’t display an amount right away, and she asked the shop clerk to tell her what was going on. The clerk informed her that she had won a big sum and needed to head over to the lottery’s headquarters to claim it.
In sharing how the win occurred, the Wayne County woman told lottery officials about buying three tickets, with the first one winning her $100 and the second $50.
The winner didn’t take long to debate on what the best option for claiming the lottery ticket was, and she went for the lump-sum, allowing her to scoop a six-figure prize and help take things a little slower in life.
This is not the only great jackpot story of the week, with a couple from Oregon who were visiting the Three Rivers Casino Resort in Florence, and both managed to hit big wins on the same table.
First, it was the wife who secured an eye-watering payout at the Three Card Poker table, amounting to $253,853.30, with the family budget soon after to be topped up by the husband’s own stroke of good luck amounting to $10,904.
