Three-time lottery winner says aliens gave him the numbers

A three-time lottery winner in Pennsylvania and a former professor at Lincoln University says that the key to his lottery hat-trick is otherworldly.

Gary Arnold said that the reason why he won the lottery three times is not down to pure random chance - it has to do with the fact that aliens have been giving him a fair hand.

First contact

These alien messages began back in December 2017, when students were on a Christmas break, and Arnold was taking a break at the Lincoln University library, when he started hearing static from his Alcatel A-205G Tracfone, and later realized that someone was saying his name.

These "alien" messages would later feed him the winning lottery numbers in 2022, 2024, and 2025 - when he missed the Powerball by two numbers, but still ended up winning a smaller prize.

Asked if Arnold’s win was truly down to some advanced civilization’s help, the Pennsylvania Lottery simply stated that the lottery outcomes are completely random, and everyone has a fair chance of winning.

The lottery confirmed, however, that Arnold had won three draws and various amounts. He won $27,500 in 2024, not exactly the largest prize out there, but still part of a wider pattern. The game he won at was Evening Pick 4, which he had already won in 2022.

In 2025, he tried his hand at the Powerball but came up short, winning a consolation prize instead. Needless to say, Arnold’s claim that he had been given the numbers by aliens seems a little too thin evidence-wise, and he can just be laughing at the expense of everyone else.

Anecdotal lottery wins fascinate people

Why would he not, too? However, interesting lottery wins do happen all the time! For example, a woman managed to win a jackpot with the same numbers that her mom used but forgot to submit years before, and missed a multi-million dollar prize.

While no aliens were reportedly involved, the anecdote does make one think about how wildly random the lottery may be, that sometimes, to make sense of it, we may be inclined to attribute it to ominous events - or perhaps an otherworld civilization altogether.
