  • Terry Rozier has pleaded not guilty to charges issued against him over his alleged involvement in "insider trading"
  • Rozier is accused of having fed insider information to third parties regarding injury reports before they became available to the public
  • Rozier is brought on charges of wire fraud and money laundering

Not since Jontay Porter has another National Basketball Player (NBA) faced such damning accusations.

Now, Terry Rozier, one of the NBA insiders embroiled in a massive gambling scandal, has pleaded not guilty to charges that he leaked information to help influence betting outcomes.

Rozier faces a high-stakes court case, as he maintains his innocence

Interestingly, Rozier is part of the probe that previously targeted and led to the first lifetime ban from the league against Porter.

Rozier’s basketball career is now on the line, but he could also face jail time, and his decision to double down on maintaining his innocence comes amid one of the most shocking revelations about "insider trading" in the league.

According to investigators, Rozier allegedly provided information on player injuries to gamblers between December 2022 and March 2024.

Such information is incredibly valuable to seasoned gamblers and syndicates, as they can make tailored decisions that raise their chances of winning more. Rozier denied the charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering against him, and the case will now continue.

He is also sitting on the defense stand with alleged co-conspirator Deniro Laster, who is also a childhood friend. Rozier is not the only NBA player in hot water with authorities, with Portland Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups also facing charges over his alleged involvement in a rigged poker game ring.

Billups supposedly groomed high-roller players, including athletes, to attend these games, which were allegedly run by Mafia crime families. What players would not know was that the games were rigged, with Billups assisting the criminals to dupe them out of money, investigators claim.
