Illinois continues with the good news, with one lucky ticket holder scooping a $1,000,000prize pool from the state lottery. An anonymous winner from Northwest Chicagoland has turned the $50 scratch-off ticket they bought on a whim into the payout of a lifetime.
The winner, one Rosalina Galaxy (not her real name, but a chosen soubriquet), recounted her story of winning the grand prize, arguing that she originally did not to play the game that brought her the seven-figure prize.
She had to, eventually, and bought $10 Million Bankroll instant ticket on impulse only to realize, moments later, that it was possibly one of the best decisions in her life.
"I originally wanted a different ticket, but it was out of stock. I kept asking myself, ‘Am I reading this correctly? I was in complete shock—I couldn’t believe it. It felt like destiny."
The win is still sinking in as Rosalina Galaxy and her husband are still struggling with the realization that a life-altering amount has come their way.
The winner does not regret her "second choice" at all, and she and her husband already have plans as to what to put the money to.
For one, they will be visiting the Nintendo World in Florida, with both Rosalina Galaxy and her husband huge Nintendo fans, as attested by the winner.
The winning ticket was sold at 1775 N. Lafox St. in South Elgin, and the venue, a Speedway, will also get a $10,000 premium for selling the ticket.
Big lottery wins in Illinois are quite frequent, with one winner recently scooping up a $500,000 payout from the Lucky Day Lotto draw.
