A frequent lottery player in Maryland was surprised by a once-in-a-lifetime multi-million-dollar prize.
Late last week, the Maryland Lottery confirmed that a Randallstown, Baltimore County, woman won one of the top prizes from its MONOPOLY X200 scratch-off.
The incredibly lucky woman stopped at the Giant Food Store located at 10210 Mill Run Circle in Owings Mills.
Initially, she purchased a couple of $50 scratch-off tickets and won $50.
Then, the woman decided to give the $30 MONOPOLY X200 ticket a try.
Scratching off the ticket, the fortunate winner nearly missed the big prize.
After she scanned the ticket with the Maryland Lottery app and viewed the "take to Lottery" message, the woman was confused.
This is when the Randallstown woman looked at the ticket once again and she was shocked to learn that she actually won one of the top prizes from MONOPOLY X200 for a $2m payday.
The incredibly lucky woman, who currently works as a secretary, visited the Lottery headquarters to claim her big prize.
When asked by an official from the Maryland Lottery if she had plans about her newfound fortune, the woman admitted that she will likely save the winnings.
However, the lucky winner confirmed that she may consider retiring from her job.
Each $30 MONOPOLY X200 ticket grants players a chance to win a prize between $30 and a top prize of $2m.
The popular scratch-off game launched back on November 27, 2024, initially offering four top prizes of $2m each.
After the top prize, won by the Baltimore County woman, two such prizes remain in play from the MONOPOLY X200 ticket.
A tier-two prize from the $30 ticket awards $50,000 and out of six such prizes, four are up for grabs.
On the other hand, a tier-three prize from MONOPOLY X200 awards $10,000 and out of 10 such prizes, six remain in play.
Within the lower prize tiers, between $5,000 and $30, thousands of prizes are up for grabs from the popular game that is part of the Maryland Lottery's family of MONOPOLY games.
The overall odds of winning any prize from the $30 scratch-off game are 1 in 2.83.
