Climbing steadily, drawing after drawing, late last month, the jackpot from Powerball hit $700m.
After the game's last draw on Saturday, August 30, 2025, nobody matched all winning numbers for an estimated jackpot of more than $1bn and the top prize has now become the fifth-largest.
The next drawing for Powerball is set to take place hours away, on Monday, September 1, 2025.
The mind-boggling sum of $1.10bn will be up for grabs, in case a lottery player beats the odds of 1 in 292.2m.
A cash option of $498.4m is also available, and while the sum isn't in the billion-dollar range, it is safe to say that it is completely life-changing.
The $1.10bn Powerball jackpot marks the fifth-largest prize in the history of the game.
The fourth-largest jackpot won from Powerball dropped in April 2024 when a single ticket in Oregon matched all winning numbers for a $1.326bn payday.
The third-largest prize from Powerball, a sweet $1.586bn jackpot, was won in January 2016 and split between a total of three tickets in Tennessee, California and Florida.
The second-largest jackpot from Powerball was won via a single ticket in California.
The incredibly fortunate winner scored the $1.765bn jackpot in October 2023.
The largest jackpot ever won from Powerball was $2.04bn, hit by a single ticket in California in November 2022.
Akshay Khanna, Jackpot.com's CEO and co-founder, shared his excitement about the growing Powerball jackpot, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
"Crossing the billion-dollar mark is always a moment that captures the national imagination," he said.
While nobody won the jackpot on Saturday, a dozen fortunate players scored million-dollar prizes.
Four ticket holders in California won $1m each by matching five white balls.
Players in Florida, Illinois, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania won $1m each, while ticket holders in Colorado, Indiana and New Hampshire won a Power Play prize of $2m each.
More than 100 fortunate players won tier-three prizes, collecting $50,000 or $150,000.
A total of 115 lottery players who matched correctly four white balls along with the Red Powerball number won $50,000 each, while 27 won $150,000 Power Play prizes each.
Within the lower prize tiers, between $300 and $4, more than 3 million players collected prizes from the game's recent drawing.
