One player wins a Lucky Day Lotto ticket with $400K payout

A lottery player in Illinois has much to be happy about after their ticket secured a $400,000 payout from the Lucky Day Lotto, one of the state’s most popular and active lottery games.

The ticket was purchased at Division Mobil, located at 2805 W. Division St. in Chicago, with the player scooping the win on Wednesday, August 12, during the evening drawing. The ticket’s winning numbers turned out to be 1, 7, 33, 34, and 45.

Jackpot winner scoops $400K from Lucky Day Lotto drawing

Store manager Bobby Patel welcomed the opportunity – and the photo-op, with his property receiving a $4,000 cut from the sale of the winning ticket.

"Our regular customers have been calling us or stopping by to ask about the winner or congratulate us — it’s been nonstop excitement at the store," Patel told the lottery.

However, Patel acknowledged that the store had not been contacted by the winner, nor did they know who the winner was. Patel’s shop is no stranger to selling winning tickets; the property previously produced other big winners as well.

About five years ago, the venue awarded $500,000 to a scratch-off winner who bought the ticket on-site. Aqil Jaddi, Finance and Operations Manager at the venue, was thrilled with the news and welcomed the new winner as well.

He said that the bonus money collected from the most recent win could now be safely put back into the business to ensure further improvements. Besides this, there will be a small celebratory occasion at the store: "We’re planning a pizza party and a small gift for our employees. It’s our way of saying thank you."

More lottery jackpots drop in Illinois every week

Overall, Lucky Day Lotto has been minting winners daily, with the evening drawing of the game on that fateful Wednesday producing as many as 17,500 winning tickets. The Illinois Lottery has continued to mint fresh winners very frequently, with six-figure tickets seemingly paying out every week.

Just earlier this week, the lottery reported that two jackpots worth a cumulative $2m were won from several drawings, including Super Jackpot and Lucky Day Lotto.
