The Illinois Lottery has much to celebrate with two winners scooping huge prizes over the weekend on two separate occasions. As the lottery continues to dish out six-figure prizes and more, the latest winners had the time of their lives securing substantial paydays themselves.
To start with, one online player managed to scoop up the eye-watering $1,551,431 jackpot while playing the Illinois Super Jackpot game, which is effectively the largest single prize to have been won from the game and draw.
While the jackpot starts at $50,000, interest in the game has quickly pushed it past the seven-figure mark. To get a chance in the draw, players need to spend $20, with 303,000 winning tickets sold for the game so far in 2025, and more than $15,700,000 awarded to players.
However, this is not all the good news the Illinois Lottery had to report over the weekend. The lottery similarly minted another big-time winner who won Sunday’s Lucky Day Lotto midday draw.
The player managed to secure a $550,000 jackpot right there and then, with the ticket purchased from a physical location as well.
The winning numbers 3, 8, 15, 16, and 39 were bought by someone who scooped up the ticket at the MK Simplemart at 8145 S. Pulaski Ave. in Chicago, with the venue also claiming a $5,500 premium for selling the winning ticket.
Overall, the Illinois Lottery has had a busy few days. On Sunday alone, more than 15,800 winning tickets were sold for the midday Lucky Day Lotto, making this game one of the most fun and worthwhile options for players to explore.
