North Carolina man's dream comes true after $110K win

There's a big difference between dreaming of winning the lottery and actually winning the lottery.

While some lottery players only dream of winning big, others see their dreams come true. This happened to one incredibly lucky North Carolina man.

The night before the drawing, the lottery player dreamt of winning the top prize

The North Carolina Education Lottery recently uncovered details regarding one of the latest Cash 5 jackpot winners.

The man who happened to score the game's top prize for a $110,000 jackpot is Robert Hoban, a Stanley resident.

The lucky lottery player purchased his winning $1 Quick Pick ticket via the Lottery's Online Play option.

To his surprise, he matched all winning numbers from one of Cash 5's recent drawings for a sweet $110,000 payday.

The odds of winning the top prize from the popular draw game are 1 in 962,598.

"It was very crazy, but it's true," the lucky man said while interviewed by a Lottery official.

What's really interesting regarding the Stanley man's recent win is that the night before the Cash 5 drawing, the lucky player dreamt of winning the top prize.

"I actually dreamt the night before that I would win. It’s strange because I even dreamt the exact amount that I won," Hoban explained.

But when the lucky man told his family about the $110,000 win, they initially didn't believe him.

Hoban admitted that he often jokes around with them, saying such things which is why they thought that he was just trying to prank them another time.

Yet, this time, his dream had come true, and he recently visited the Lottery headquarters to claim his prize.

After the relevant state and federal taxes, Hoban's bank account increased by $78,925.

Cash 5 players can win prizes between $1 and a jackpot starting at $100K

Lottery players can participate in Cash 5 by buying tickets via retail outlets or online via the North Carolina Education Lottery's website or its Official Mobile App.

The game's drawings take place every night of the week and the cost per play is $1.

Lottery players have a chance of winning a prize between $1 and a jackpot that starts at $100,000 and grows until somebody wins it.

An extra $1 unlocks the Double Play feature, enabling lottery players to enter their numbers into a second drawing where they have a chance of winning more prizes.

On the other hand, thanks to the EZ Match feature, which costs an extra $1, players can win a prize of up to $500 instantly.
