That’s the story of one Oxford, Michigan man, who took down the progressive jackpot from the North Carolina Education Lottery’s digital instant game, Bison Bonanza.

Beating 1 in 62 million odds to win the EPIC Jackpot from Bison Bonanza

Bison Bonanza is one of the many such games, and it offers three progressive jackpot tiers.

The game’s BIG Jackpot starts at $300, the MAJOR Jackpot starts at $5,000, while the game’s top prize, an EPIC Jackpot, starts at $50,000.

The odds of winning the progressive jackpot on a $1.00 play are 1 in 833,333, 1 in 3,555,556 and 1 in 31,034,483 for the BIG Jackpot, the MAJOR Jackpot and the EPIC Jackpot, respectively.

Interestingly, the Michigan man decided to play at $0.50 and won the mind-blowing EPIC Jackpot for a $288,154 payday.

The Oxford player hit the Bison Bonanza jackpot on September 11, 2026, but visited the North Carolina Education Lottery on Monday to claim his newfound fortune.

What’s amazing in this case is that the odds of winning the top prize are slimmer when the cost per play is $0.50.

While usually, the odds of winning the Bison Bonanza EPIC Jackpot are 1 in 31,034,483 on a $1.00 play, the man faced odds of 1 in 62 million, considering he chose the $0.50 per play option.

After the relevant applicable state and federal taxes, the Oxford man’s bank account increased by $207,500.

The incredibly fortunate man did not reveal his plans on how he would spend his newfound fortune.

At the time of writing, Bison Bonanza’s top jackpot is $115,438.

The overall odds of winning any prize from the popular digital instant game are 1 in 3.59.
