An incredibly fortunate soul in Michigan is looking forward to a life-changing jackpot of more than $30m.
Earlier this week, the Michigan Lottery confirmed that a single ticket matched all winning numbers from Lotto 47's Saturday drawing to take down the game's jackpot.
The jackpot-winning ticket was purchased from Wild Bills Tobacco, at 46518 Gratiot Avenue in Chesterfield, a city that is approximately 35 miles north of Detroit.
The lucky winner matched all winning numbers, 02, 03, 12, 15, 16 and 33 to win Lotto 47's $32.91m jackpot on Saturday.
Surprisingly, the latest top prize win marks the biggest jackpot won in the history of Lotto 47 and the third jackpot win for the year so far.
Back in January, a ticket sold in Taylor took down the $1.3m Lotto 47 jackpot at the time.
Then, in April, one player who purchased his ticket at the Speedway gas station at 3908 South Westnedge Avenue in Kalamazoo scored the $5.46m jackpot at the time.
As noted, the latest jackpot win marks a record for Lotto 47.
Previously, the biggest jackpot from the game was $32.3m and was split by two players when the top prize was won in November 2020.
One of the winning tickets was bought in Lake Odessa, while the other one was purchased in Ferndale.
The cost per play for Lotto 47 is $1 and players need to pick six numbers from one to 47.
To win the jackpot prize, they need to match all six numbers.
The Lotto 47 jackpot starts at $1m and grows until one or more players win it.
Drawings of the popular game take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7:29 PM.
To enter the drawing, players can purchase tickets either at a retail outlet or online via MichiganLottery.com.
In light of the jackpot win, the Michigan Lottery encouraged the player to reach out its Player Relations division at 844-917-6325 to book an appointment to claim their win.
In Michigan, lottery players can claim Lotto 47 prizes for one year from the date of the drawing.
