  • Fort Washington woman won the top prize in Maryland Lottery's Keno Team USA second-chance promotion
  • The fortunate soul, together with her partner, will enjoy a five-day all-expenses-paid trip to Los Angeles for the 2028 Olympic games
  • Three more trip winners are going to be randomly selected until the end of the promotion

Emerging as the winner of a second-chance promotion, a lucky woman will return to Los Angeles for the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

Earlier this week, the Maryland Lottery confirmed the latest winner in its Keno Team USA second-chance promotion.

Winner and her husband return to LA

The lucky woman, a Fort Washington resident, won the top prize in the second-chance promotion, an all-expenses-paid trip to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

The prize for two includes a VIP round-trip airfare, as well as five nights' accommodation at a deluxe hotel.

The lucky winners also receive tickets to four Olympic events, while their meals and ground transportation expenses are covered.

The Fort Washington woman and her husband will also benefit from $1,000 in spending money, along with Team USA apparel.

Speaking to an official from the Maryland Lottery, the lucky woman admitted that she and her husband visited Los Angeles more than 10 years ago.

At the time, they enjoyed Venice Beach, Malibu Beach, as well as Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles, among other places, but always dreamed of going back, she said.

Now, they are excited that thanks to the Lottery's Keno Team USA second-chance promotion, they will not only go back to Los Angeles but visit the 2028 Olympic games.

Players in Maryland can enter non-winning Keno tickets into My Lottery Rewards and receive one entry for every $1 spent.

The lucky winner told the Lottery official that she and her husband have established a system for the second-chance game.

While she played, her husband entered the tickets. "We enter all the tickets, and we were aiming for this trip. We thought it was a long shot," the Fort Washington woman said.

Three more trips will be awarded

The special second-chance promotion kicked off on January 5, 2026, and will run through February 22, 2026.

Entering non-winning Keno tickets grants players a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, or a Team USA-themed merchandise pack that includes a Men's or Ladies' LA28 retro stripe t-shirt, as well as Nike Ripstop LA28 adjustable hat.

The lucky Fort Washington woman is the second one to collect a top prize from the second-chance promotion.

Three other lucky winners will be announced until the promotion ends.
