A hardworking father from a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, started his week on a high note after he was notified about a life-changing, million-dollar lottery win.
On Monday, The Lott confirmed that the fortunate Prahran resident holds one out of a total of four division one winning entries from TattsLotto's recent draw.
The popular game's draw took place on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
From TattsLotto's draw 4597, a total of four fortunate souls won life-changing prizes of AU$1,668,614.99 each.
The winning numbers from the game's draw on Saturday were 45, 4, 10, 40, 41 and 14, while supplementary numbers were 3 and 6.
Besides the entry from Victoria, three other division one winning entries came from Queensland.
The fortunate Prahran dad purchased his winning 50-game QuickPick entry via The Lott's official website.
However, when a lottery official contacted the lucky winner to notify him of the big prize, he initially hung up the phone.
Recalling the moment, the hardworking dad said: "Oh my goodness. Thank you for calling! Sorry, I didn’t answer at first. My mate just said, ‘Nice one, you hung up on a lottery official!’"
The man went on to say that he is an occasional lottery player and admitted that he was in disbelief that he had won nearly AU$2m.
Moreover, the lucky winner said: "This has come at a perfect time. You’ve completely made my year. What a great job you’ve got! I’m in shock, but it’s a good shock."
Asked about his plans for the newfound fortune, the hardworking dad admitted that he already knows what to do with the money.
While the fortunate man said that he wants to buy a new car and go on a vacation, he also thought of his children and said: "It’ll go to school fees for sure!"
Saturday Lotto draws take place every Saturday after 7:30 PM AEST.
To win a division one prize, players need to match all six winning numbers in a single game panel.
