Lottery club in Michigan wins $1m from Mega Millions

A lottery club in Michigan recently collected a $1m tier-two prize from Mega Millions after matching five winning numbers.

On Friday, the Michigan Lottery confirmed that the New Beginnings Lottery Club claimed their million-dollar Mega Millions prize only recently.

The win is a dream come true

The lottery club purchased the winning ticket from Wayne Med Mart on 417 South Wayne Road in Westland.

To win the $1m prize, the New Beginnings lottery club matched correctly the winning numbers 02, 24, 25, 52 and 58 from the game's drawing on November 5, 2024.

Recently, the lottery club visited the Michigan Lottery to claim the big win.

Members of the club admitted that they plan to use their share of the winnings to pay bills and save the rest.

Suzanna Shkreli, the Michigan Lottery's Commissioner, shared her excitement about the latest announcement.

"Congratulations to the aptly named "New Beginnings Lottery Club" on their life-changing $1 million Mega Millions win that will allow the members to erase their debts," she explained.

Finally, Shkreli pointed out: "All Lottery players dream of winning big, and this is just one example of that dream coming true for a group of Michiganders."

Anthony Jabbour, a representative and spokesperson of the lottery club, was similarly delighted.

He confirmed that the club doesn't often play Mega Millions but decided to try their luck.

"When our member with the ticket checked the numbers and saw five matches, he cried tears of joy," Jabbour added.

Finally, the spokesperson said: "To be debt-free is what we have all dreamed about, so to see that become a reality is truly a dream come true."

Mega Millions grants players a chance for life-changing prizes

The popular Mega Millions game is available to residents in 45 states as well as Washington DC and the US Virgin Islands.

The game's drawings take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The cost per play is $2 and the odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.

The game's next drawing is scheduled for Friday, February 28, 2025, at 11 PM ET.

The jackpot for the upcoming drawing is an estimated $197m, while the cash option is $91.9m.
