A man who never previously won any significant amount from the Illinois Lottery was shocked to find out that a ticket he had bought on the iLottery turned out to fetch him the grand prize for the Lucky Day Lotto.

Lucky Day Lotto mints another millionaire in Illinois

The win occurred on January 4 during the game’s evening draw, and when the man was tucked away in bed with his wife, who was sleeping, he realized that the winning numbers - 19, 28, 30, 40, and 42 - were in fact his own.

Not believing his own good luck, he quickly double-checked the numbers, and they were correct. He woke up his wife, who was in equal disbelief. "No way!" the winner reported his wife said at the time.

The winning amount of $1,000,000 was supplemented by a $1 extra, because the man, who chose to stay anonymous and used his Music Man to identify himself, had also matched another two numbers on a separate line.

Not having to worry about breaking even

"When I win, it’s usually just a few dollars—just enough to break even," Music Man told lottery officials when he finally appeared to get his gigantic check. He said that the win would go into helping his family out, with his family meaning all to him.

A new house is on the cards now, which will be a nice surprise for the children, Music Man shared. He also finds it fitting to repay his children, as it was his birthday numbers that led to the win!

"After all, their birthday numbers landed me the jackpot," he confirmed.
