An Illinois player has much to be happy about ahead of Thanksgiving as the player managed to turn a single scratch-off ticket into an eight-number payout, Casino Guru News learned in an email press release.
Trying their luck at the $10 Million scratch-off game only to find out that they have been indeed successful, hitting the biggest prize on the ticket, as confirmed by the Illinois Lottery in an official press statement.
The game itself runs three$10,000,000 top prizes, along with 15 $1,000,000 prizes, and a whole bunch of $500 payouts. The lucky player, however, has struck gold and need not look past the eight-figure win, however.
Not much is immediately known about who had won. In fact, their identity has not been disclosed by the lottery, as there is no obligation to do that. However, the lottery did say that the winning ticket was purchased at the Jewel-Osco in Countryside at 5545 South Brainard Avenue.
The lottery also boasted that this was the 48th instance of a player winning equal to or more than $1,000,000 from a scratch-off ticket, and another winning seven-figure ticket was actually bought at a Jewel-Osco in Illinois just recently.
This is the second time a player in Illinois has won a $10,000,000 jackpot from another drawing.
The first one was actually already won from the Million Instant Ticket game in May 2024 by a player who bought their ticket in Alton.
Jackpot stories such as these have been quite frequent all over the United States. In fact, the nature of lotteries usually means that there are quite a few millionaires going out there, and they need not necessarily be playing Powerball or Mega Millions to win big.
Local state lotteries have come up with all sorts of excellent games to this end. Recently, a man in North Carolina turned the $20 that they had happened to chance upon on a parking lot into a $1,000,000 payday making for a great anecdote and the sheer strangeness of luck.
