The Illinois Lottery has had another big winner announced, with a player securing $800,000 from the Thursday, October 8 Lucky Day Lotto drawing.
The player, who has not yet been identified, has secured the six-figure payout by matching all five numbers in the game for the evening draw, namely 11, 20, 21, 33, and 35.
At the time of the win, she was the 29th player to have won more than $500,000 from the game, with the Illinois Lottery confirming that more than 9m winning tickets for the game have been sold so far.
More than $53m in prizes have been claimed by players, the lottery further clarified.
The lottery could not provide any further information about who the player was.
The Lucky Day Lotto is drawn twice per day, and the jackpots start at $100,000; the more contributions collected this way, the more money allocated to the final payment.
Illinois is a frequent site of jackpot wins, but oftentimes, players forget to scoop up some of their big prizes. There are $2.7m in unclaimed prizes in Illinois from Lucky Day Lotto, as published on the lottery’s official website.
This is the case with another Lucky Day Lotto player who won $250,000.
The largest unclaimed ticket, however, so far is a $700,000 winner (excluding the most recent win) - once again on Lucky Day Lotto.
Another big winner from the Lucky Day Lotto was produced on July 22, with $650,000 still uncollected by whoever has won, with several other prizes waiting to be claimed.
