An incredibly lucky Naples, Florida resident won a life-changing prize after trying his luck with a scratch-off ticket game.

Details regarding the seven-figure win emerged Monday from the Florida Lottery, the organizer of lottery games and scratch-off ticket sales in the state.

$1m lottery windfall surprises Naples player

According to the Lottery's announcement, a 38-year-old man won a tier-two prize of $1m from the 500X THE CASH scratch-off game.

The winning ticket was purchased by the fortunate man from Publix on 175 S. Barfield Drive in Marco Island.

The retailer that sold the winning $1m ticket will benefit from a $2,000 bonus commission.

The Lottery confirmed that the Naples resident visited its Fort Myers District Office to claim the big prize.

As is usual for big lottery wins, the lucky player chose to receive his winnings as a one-time lump cash payment of $640,000.

The 38-year-old man did not reveal if he had any plans regarding the unexpected windfall.

While there were two top prizes of $25m each, only one remains in play.

The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 21,920,355.

On the other hand, 500X THE CASH offered 160 prizes of $1m each at its release.

After the most recent win, 74 prizes of $1m remain up for grabs.

The odds of winning a tier-two prize of $1m are 1 in 274,004.

A tier-three prize from 500X THE CASH awards $50,000 and 160 such prizes remain.

Players have a chance of 1 in 117,851 to win a $50,000 prize.
