An Aussie couple will celebrate a wedding anniversary like no other after scoring a life-changing million-dollar prize from a popular lottery game.
On Thursday, The Lott confirmed that a single division one winning ticket scored Weekday Windfall's top prize for a sweet AU$1m ($648,000) payday.
The Lakemba couple purchased their 50-game QuickPick entry via The Lott's official app.
They won the life-changing prize from Weekday Windfall's draw 4612, from Wednesday, October 15, 2025.
Across Australia, there was a single division one winning entry, the one held by the couple in New South Wales.
Weekday Windfall is among the lottery's most popular games. According to data from The Lott, in FY25, the game helped make 94 people across the country millionaires.
During the same period, there were a total of 99 division one winning entries from Weekday Windfall, with a total of AU$105m ($68.1m) paid in prizes.
Contacted early on Thursday, the couple was still in shock from the big win.
When an official from The Lott confirmed the win, the two admitted that they hadn't slept at all last night.
The husband said: "I can't describe how I'm feeling right now!"
Moreover, he pointed out: "I checked last night, but we couldn’t believe it. We’ve been waiting for this call to find out whether we were dreaming or if it’s really our new reality."
The fortunate winner said that it is amazing to win such a life-altering prize, saying once again that he and his wife didn't sleep after checking their ticket.
"It’s actually our wedding anniversary soon, so we were planning to go out for dinner, but now we can do something even better than dinner," the husband added.
The winner admitted that he has been working hard lately, so this windfall is completely life-changing.
Focusing on the plans about their newfound fortune, the husband said that they are currently renting, but thanks to this windfall, they will consider buying their own house.
"It’s just crazy. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much," he said in conclusion.
