That's the story of a Sydney couple who won the Jackpot Prize from a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The couple entered the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11056 from Monday, January 12, 2025.

They purchased their random number ticket at Hurlstone Park Newsagency, 12 Crinan Street in Hurlstone Park.

The drawing in question saw the Canterbury couple's ticket drawn, taking down the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize of AU$2.5m ($1.7m).

Considering that Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, there is no sharing of prizes.

Instead, there is a preset number of tickets for each draw, which means that the couple is looking forward to the entire AU$2.5m ($1.7m) prize.

"Oh my goodness! Did you just say $2.5 million?"

Contacted by an official from The Lott, the couple was in disbelief about the good fortune that had come their way.

"Oh my god! Unbelievable! Oh my goodness! Did you just say $2.5 million?," the husband said when hearing the good news.

"My wife and I are completely overwhelmed right now. I think our heads are starting to spin," the lucky man added.

The fortunate winner admitted that he and his wife always bought one $2 ticket and one $5 ticket every week for different Lucky Lotteries draws.

"Funnily enough, it's our 36th wedding anniversary tomorrow. I guess we might have to kick off celebrations early," the husband added.

Overwhelmed with excitement, the couple said that they are "over the moon," adding that it was difficult to think straight in light of such a life-changing win.

With the thought of winning the AU$2.5m jackpot sinking in, the couple already has plans about the unexpected windfall.

While they refrained from sharing any specific details about planned purchases, the lucky winners said they would help their children.
