What’s Your Favourite Part of the Game

Everyone knows a win feels good. The reels stop, the reward lands, and for a second, the whole world lights up.

But the best, most memorable moments are not always so easy to name. For every player, they can be different. And at RocketPlay, we wanted to understand that moment better.

So during the Cosmic Department of Joy, we asked more than 15,000 players a simple question: what brings you joy when you play?

And the answers told us something unpredictable: joy is bigger than just winning.

Winning is important — but it is not the whole story

Of course, wins matter. A surprise reward or a bonus landing at the right time can easily become the highlight of the day.

Still, the Rocketplay team wanted to look beyond the obvious. What happens around the win? What keeps the game exciting before the result appears?

Many answers mentioned the rush of anticipation, favourite games, fun features, relaxation, and the feeling of "what happens next?" For some, Joy was the reward. For others, it was the build-up, the break from routine, or simply the pleasure of playing.

That is exactly why the Cosmic Department of Joy was created — to listen to what people actually enjoy, not just guess. After looking through the answers, 4 themes appeared most often: Reward, Thrill, Escape and Play.

4 ways players described joy

Reward — 46.8%

Reward was the strongest one. Players talked about wins, bonuses, Free Spins and unexpected prizes — the moments when something good lands and the game suddenly feels more exciting.

"The funniest part is the win."

Thrill — 11.5%.

Thrill was all about anticipation. The seconds before the reels stop, the bonus that almost opens, the feeling that the next spin could change everything.

"The excitement of what happens next."

Escape — 18.8%.

Escape showed a calmer side of joy. Many players described playing as a way to relax, switch off, or enjoy a short break from everyday routine.

"I just want switching off for a bit."

Play — 18.3%.

Play was about the game itself: favourite slots, fun features, new mechanics, variety and discovery. Sometimes joy is not only in the reward, but in the simple pleasure of playing.

"Fun and excitement."

Together, these answers showed that joy can be a win, a rush, a break, or just a game that feels fun to play.
