Stefan Bomhard joins Flutter as non-executive director

The globally recognizable online sports betting and iGaming operator holding a leading position in the US and across the globe, Flutter Entertainment plc, announced a new senior-level appointment.

On Friday, the company confirmed it selected a new non-executive director, joining its Board of Directors.

Extensive search results with the appointment of a new non-executive director

Following an extended search, Flutter identified Stefan Bomhard as the perfect fit for the senior-level role.

While his appointment as a non-executive director at the Board was confirmed on Friday, the company explained that he will assume the role effective from October 1, 2025.

Bringing decades of experience, Bomhard makes an excellent addition to the Board of Directors at Flutter.

Notably, he was recognized as an independent director in accordance with the standards set out by the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

In August, Flutter posted its Q2 financial results, highlighting nearly $4.2bn in revenue and excellent performance for FanDuel.

John Bryant, Flutter's Chair of the Board, shared his excitement about the latest appointment.

"Following an extensive search as part of our on-going Board renewal process, I am delighted to welcome Stefan as a non-executive director," he said.

Moreover, Bryant pointed out: "Stefan has significant experience working in international environments, particularly in the operation, sales and marketing of well-known consumer brands."

In conclusion, Flutter's Chair of the Board said: "We look forward to Stefan joining the Board and contributing to Flutter's future."

The new non-executive director brings significant experience

Currently, Bomhard holds the role of Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at Imperial Brands plc, the fourth largest multinational tobacco company.

Considering his appointment to the Board at Flutter, he is set to step down from his CEO role at Imperial Brands effective from September 30, 2025.

At the same time, Bomhard will be vacating the Executive Director position at Imperial Brands on December 31, 2025.

He will retain his current non-executive director role at Compass Group plc.

Throughout his career, Bomhard accumulated significant experience, leading teams and overseeing the expansion and growth of leading companies.

Notably, he has held senior-level roles at Procter & Gamble, Unilever Food Solutions Europe, Diageo plc (Burger King), as well as Bacardi Limited, among other companies.
