The global sports technology company, Sportradar, announced its plans to expand its Board of Directors with two new members. The company said Monday that two new members will stand for election for its Board during the company's general meeting with shareholders planned on May 16, 2023.

The meeting, set to take place in St. Gallen, Switzerland will see William Kurtz and Rajani Ramanathan, two executives with significant experience, stand for election as independent Board of Directors members. "In addition to Ms. Ramanathan and Mr. Kurtz, the candidates for the seats include seven incumbent directors advanced by the board," explains a statement released by Sportradar.

Besides the two members for election, the company confirmed that Chuck Robel, who was a part of the Board since September 2020, will retire. In addition to retiring from the Board, Robel will also not stand for re-election during the annual general meeting planned in May. Being a part of the Board for the last three years, he played a pivotal role in Sportradar's successful IPO, the company said.

Jeffery Yabuki, Sportradar's Chairman of the Board of Directors, thanked Robel on behalf of the Board and acknowledged his relentless efforts and contributions to the company. He added: "His contributions have been meaningful, significant, and greatly appreciated. We know Chuck will remain a friend and supporter of Sportradar."

Additionally, Yabuki said: "I'm excited about the prospect of both Rajani Ramanathan and William Kurtz joining the Sportradar board at this important time." Finally, he explained: "Their highly relevant experiences – both individually and collectively – will deliver valuable perspective as Sportradar continues its rapid growth trajectory in this incredibly exciting space."

The nomination of Kurtz comes as no surprise, considering his extensive experience within the financial vertical. Overall, he has more than 30 years of experience as a chief operating officer and chief financial officer as a part of different technology equipment and software companies.

Moreover, Kurtz is currently a member of multiple corporate boards, including the NASDAQ-listed company, Aterian Inc. In addition to being an independent director at the company, he also serves as a member of the audit, compensation and nominating and corporate governance committees.

Kurtz is also a part of the NASDAQ-listed analytics company, Verint Systems Inc. At the company, he serves as a member of the governance committee and a chairman of the audit committee. His professional background experience includes senior-level roles with Bloom Energy Corporation, as well as Ripcord Inc.

On the other hand, Ramanathan also brings extensive experience within different verticals. She currently holds the roles of director and advisor within both private and public technology companies within the VR, Blockchain, AI and the IoT (Internet of Things) verticals.

Ramanathan is currently a member of the board of the French publicly traded company that offers services and solutions related to virtual prototyping, ESI Group. What's more, she is a part of the boards at Faro Technologies, Hayden AI and Guidewire Software.
