Sega Sammy Creation selects Naoki Kameda for CEO and President

The leading manufacturer of gaming machines that deliver entertaining and innovative experiences, Sega Sammy Creation Inc. (SSC), announced changes to its senior-level team last week. The company revealed that its US-facing wholly owned subsidiary, Sega Sammy Creation USA Inc. (SSC USA), appointed Naoki Kameda as its new chief executive officer and president.

Overall, Kameda has more than 25 years of experience within the growing entertainment vertical. Before joining the company, he participated in different projects that involved the introduction of video game consoles for different markets around the globe. Additionally, Kameda's background includes experience in land-based management such as Tokyo Joypolis, the famous indoor theme park.

Kameda has held the position of director of Sega of America. During his professional career, he was also CFO and COO of SEGA Networks Inc. At that time, he was in charge of mobile games primarily targeting the European and North American markets.

Back in April 2019, Kameda was appointed COO and President of SSC USA, a position he held since his most recent appointment. Although the announcement came last Friday, SSC explained in a statement that Kameda's appointment as chief executive officer and president is effective from December 2, 2022. Aside from his appointment, SSC also revealed that Koichi Fukazawa was appointed as chairman of SSC USA.

Sharing his excitement, Kameda said: "Sega Sammy Creation Group is still a newcomer to the gaming industry, but I am proud that we have a very strong team to create and deliver incredible machines and content, with long experience in Sega Sammy's entertainment domain." Finally, he pointed out: "I am honored to take this journey with the team for greater success with more products to fulfill our customer's needs!"

Similarly, SSC acknowledged that Kameda has a rich professional experience within different verticals in the entertainment and gambling industries. What's more, the company predicted that he will play a major part in the future expansion and development of SSC. Finally, SSC noted: "We are extremely excited with this appointment and look forward to further growth under his leadership."

Established in 2013, SSC continues to grow every year as it gets closer to its 10th anniversary. The company's US-facing counterpart, SSC USA was founded back in 2016 and just like its parent company, it plans to grow within the gaming vertical.
