SBC Summit Barcelona is set to welcome more than 15,000 delegates who will now have the opportunity to attend the Player Protection Symposium track, an entire part of the much-anticipated event that is fully dedicated to the importance of preventing gambling harm and intervening in instances where operators identify harm.
The Player Protection Symposium will be held on Thursday, September 1 at Conference Stage 4 and it will feature a number of interesting panels, discussions, and speakers who have come together to discuss the growing relevance of protecting consumers in a time of raising awareness, improving understanding of the core problem, and not least – regulatory oversight that insists on better measures in place.
The first panel, moderated by WH Partners Founder and Partner Olga Finkel, is about "The ethics of AI – a tool of protection or harm?" which delves deeper into one of the hottest topics which is the introduction of AI to the gambling industry and how well it can be used to protect consumers and conversely, how operators can use it to tailor their products and targeting better. More panels will also be featured in place, including "Should "Path to Play" be a roadmap for other regulated markets?" which will be attended by Brigid Simmonds, Chair Betting and Gaming Council, Paul Foster CEO at Crucial Compliance, Dr. Jennifer Shatley Principal Consultant Logan Avenue Consulting LL, and Mindway AI CEO Rasmus Kjaergaard. The panel will be moderated by Betknowmore Head of External Affairs Matt Smith.
Then, SVP for American Regulatory, Affairs and Responsible Gambling, Entain Martin Lycka will take to the stage for the Martin Lycka's Safe Bet Show. The Player Protection Symposium will be wrapping up with a panel moderated by Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) CEO Shelley White who will be hosting the "Betting on sustainability: the rise of ESG in iGaming" with guests Entain Group Head of Safer Gambling and External Affairs Sophie Platts, BOS General Secretary Gustaf Hoffstedt, AGETARE AG Founder & CEO Harald Pia and Deal Me Out CEO Jordan Lea.
