Safer gambling charities Gordon Moody, Fejar and FES have all been named the recipients of the charity fund generated by the sponsors of the ICE Sustainable Gambling Zone. After announcing that €65,000 has been raised by the sponsors to be allocated to various charities focusing on safer gambling and responsible play, the names of the beneficiaries have also been revealed.

Safer gambling charities receive substantial financial backing at ICE

Sponsors Cirsa, Grupo Orenes, Betson Group, Flutter, Acordjoc, Alea, Novomatic, Playtech, and Novomatic Spain have all contributed to the fund in a bid to back the efforts of leading companies in the sector. Gordon Moody has received €30,000 of the total fund, followed by Fejar with €25,000, and FES with €10,000.

Ewa Bakun, Clarion Gaming’s Director of Industry Insight has welcomed this development and hailed the generosity of the format’s sponsors.

"Player Protection is a fundamental objective shared by everyone associated with the Sustainable Gambling Zone. The overarching objective of the Sustainable Gambling Zone is to be at the vanguard of initiatives to help develop healthy play from the outset of the player journey," Bakum added.

The Sustainable Gambling Zone has been looking to ensure that operators and companies understand and adopt player protection as a core part of their business model rather than a compliance requirement.

"The goal is to create a more sustainable business in which players continue to enjoy their gambling entertainment experience but where the small proportion who are at risk of developing problems are proactively identified and assisted by operators," Bakun added.

Clarion Gaming, which hosts ICE Barcelona, is one of the industry leaders to fully embrace safer gambling and promote it among stakeholders. The company focused on the introduction of the ICE Consumer Protection Zone first which was then used as the blueprint for other events.

The Safer Gambling Zone today features more than 26 dedicated stakeholders, including regulators and organizations, that seek to promote and champion educational content aimed at equipping companies with better player protection and ESG tools and deepening their understanding int he matter.

ICE and iGB Affiliate impact on the industry to continue growing

At the same time, Clarion Gaming has been happy to welcome the more than 1,000 exhibitors at the Fira Gran Via Barcelona, with the twin events, ICE and IGB Affiliate, now sprawling on 120,000 square meters.

This year’s edition, running from January 20-22, has been fully sold out, giving Clarion Gaming time to consider whether they should not be pushing the format even further with even more tickets for next year.
