Relax Gaming picks Martin Stålros as new CEO

The innovative leader of iGaming content creation and content aggregation, Relax Gaming, has promoted from within its ranks, appointing Martin Stålros as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer. He is moving up from his current position as COO.

The choice of Stålros makes perfect sense for the supplier, as Relax Gaming has been pursuing steady growth and has now picked an industry veteran whose experience spans 15 years and various positions within both the company and across other market leaders, including Unibet and Ladbrokes before joining Relax as COO in 2015 and serving in the position for what is now more than 9 years.

Stålros will be instrumental in helping Relax Gaming maintain a good pace of growth and continue executing its strategic goals over the coming years. He will be taking the reins over from Simon Hammon who is going to stay with the company through October 2024 to facilitate the change in leadership and ensure that the supplier remains on track with executing its main strategic goals.

Hammon welcomed the appointment of Stålros as his successor and said that he was uniquely qualified to help Relax Gaming achieve the next stages of development, hailing his pragmatic approach that will ultimately help him steer the company towards all of its stated goals.

"It has been a true honour serving as CEO of Relax Gaming for 2 years, and I look forward to seeing what the future brings them," Hammon added.

He was joined by Stålros himself who thanked the opportunity to step in the important position. Stålros noted that during his stint as COO over the past 9.5 years, the company has grown from a team of just 30 to 350 presently, with the man motivated to see Relax Gaming thrive even more.

"My predecessors have built a stable ship and a close working relationship with both Patrik Österåker, the Founder, and Simon Hammon, the previous CEO, has given me great insight," he added, thanking the people who have been involved with shaping the future of the company.

Relax Gaming Chairman of the Board Patrik Osteraker has been similarly pleased with the chance to see Stålros step into the leadership role.

"As the business and organisation continues to mature and grow, we feel that Martin has the ideal profile needed to support and guide us on our ambitious growth trajectory," Osteraker added.

In the meantime, Relax Gaming has continued to grow its footprint in places such as Italy and the Netherlands.
