The leading sports prediction market in America, ProphetX, continues to grow its senior-level team.
On Monday, the company announced the appointments of three seasoned executives with significant experience: Damon Mercadante, Nathan Busscher and Jesse Wachtel.
Joining ProphetX, Mercadante was appointed to the strategic role of Vice President of Growth Marketing, Busscher assumed the role of Chief Product Officer, while Wachtel was named Chief Financial Officer.
Each of the executives brings extensive experience and unique knowledge.
The appointment of the three executives comes at a time when ProphetX plans significant expansion and advancing its pending applications with the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).
Ultimately, the company anticipates becoming the "first regulated U.S. exchange and clearinghouse with a sports-native foundation, built to scale across event-driven markets," as explained in a press release.
In his role as Vice President of Growth Marketing, Mercadante will oversee a range of important processes.
He holds a BA in Biology from Yale University, as well as an MBA from The Wharton School.
Mercadante’s professional background includes a VP of Growth Marketing role at one of the fastest-growing sports and fantasy apps in the U.S., Sleeper.
He was also employed as VP of Marketing for Streaming Services at Paramount.
On the other hand, Busscher will spearhead ProphetX’s product strategy and execution as Chief Product Officer.
Bringing more than two decades of experience, he is expected to play a central role in the building of the CFTC-regulated exchange.
Busscher has an International MBA from the University of South Carolina, along with a BSBA from the University of West Florida.
Prior to joining ProphetX, he held senior leadership roles at FNZ Securities, Click Capital Markets, TradeStation and Altruist Financial, among other companies.
Wachtel, who will serve as Chief Financial Officer, will be in charge of building ProphetX's financial infrastructure.
Overseeing key processes, he is expected to help the company accelerate its growth in the market.
Currently, Wachtel has a BS in Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business.
His background includes significant experience in B2B software and the online gambling vertical.
Not only is Wachtel an experienced financial and strategy executive, but he has successfully worked alongside investors, founders and operators.
Dean Sisun, ProphetX's CEO and Co-Founder, spoke with excitement about the three senior-level appointments.
"As the prediction market landscape continues to evolve, ProphetX is excited to welcome Jesse, Nathan, and Damon to the leadership lineup to drive innovation and accelerate our next phase of growth," he said.
"Together with the regulatory and compliance leadership we have already put in place, this team is built to win," Sisun explained in conclusion.
