Peter Stringer joins Betway as brand ambassador

The Super Group-owned brand and leading online global betting and gaming brand, Betway, expanded its roster of brand ambassadors with a new appointment. Earlier this week, the company confirmed that it selected Peter Stringer, the famous former Irish rugby union player. Joining Betway, he was appointed as the company's Irish rugby brand ambassador.

The latest appointment doesn't come as a surprise, considering Stringer's professional career as a scrum-half and his outstanding achievements in the sport. Expanding its roster of ambassadors, Betway's appointment comes ahead of the Rugby World Cup, scheduled to start on September 8, 2023, in France.

Per the new collaboration, Stringer will deliver exclusive and unique content for sports fans and bettors alike. The former Munster player will deliver blog posts regularly via Betway Insider, Betway's editorial hub. The unique insights are undoubtedly going to capture the attention of many rugby fans and bettors alike.

Anthony Werkman, Betway's Chief Executive Officer, shared his excitement about the latest appointment in a statement released on September 5, 2023. "I am thrilled to welcome Peter Stringer as our new Irish rugby ambassador," he said. Additionally, Werkman pointed out: "Peter adds fantastic value to our rugby offering and is well known with fans all over the world." In conclusion, Betway's Chief Executive Officer predicted that Stringer's expert knowledge and insights will be interesting for sports fans across the globe.

Sharing his excitement, Stringer added: "I’m delighted to be joining one of the world’s biggest betting brands as an official ambassador." Stringer had an extensive career in professional rugby before his retirement in 2018. Overall, he has 98 appearances for his country and has played in two World Cups. What's more, the former Munster player won two Heineken Cups with his team, as well as three Triple Crowns. Back in 2009, Stringer won a Six Nations Grand Slam as well, among other significant achievements.

Thanks to the addition of Stringer, Betway grows further its portfolio of brand ambassadors. The former professional rugby player joins a growing roster of sports ambassadors that includes Kevin Pietersen, the former England Cricket player, as well as Robbie Keane, the Irish football legend, among others.
