Under a new contract extension, Brightstar Lottery will power the Oregon Lottery with its leading retail technology in the next five years.
Earlier in the week, the former announced that its subsidiary, Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation, inked a five-year contract extension with the Oregon Lottery.
As a result, Brightstar Lottery will power the operator’s retail offering through May 2031.
Leveraging advanced retail technology from Brightstar Lottery, the Oregon Lottery will bolster its capabilities.
Per the contract extension, Brightstar will upgrade the lottery operator’s central system with high-performing components.
In addition, the latter will use the former’s retail equipment, including 2,200 units of the newest point-of-sale digital signage solution by Brightstar Lottery, SignaLink.
SignaLink offers a range of benefits, including capabilities for centrally managing content, real-time jackpot updates and targeted, retailer-specific messaging.
Besides SignaLink, the Oregon Lottery will also benefit from 1,000 Retailer Pro S2 terminals, which have already proven their reliability and capability.
Using high-performance processes that resolve transactions seamlessly, Retailer Pro S2 also supports multiple player-facing displays and a range of peripheral devices, making them an excellent retail upgrade.
Scott Gunn, Brightstar Lottery’s Chief Operating Officer, North America Lottery, commented in a statement.
"Brightstar's contract extension with the Oregon Lottery reflects our shared commitment to innovation and delivering long-term value for Oregonians," he said.
Moreover, Gunn pointed out: "We value our longstanding relationship with the state of Oregon and respect our obligation to create meaningful benefits for the Lottery, its retailers, and players."
Mike Wells, the Oregon Lottery’s Director, was similarly excited.
He acknowledged that the Oregon Lottery’s collaboration has been going from strength to strength for several decades.
"Through this extension with Brightstar and the deployment of upgraded central system features and modern hardware, we are advancing a more intelligent, responsive ecosystem that supports our retailers, engages players, and drives sustainable returns for Oregon," Wells said in conclusion.
Only recently, Brightstar Lottery confirmed planned changes to its C-suite with the promotion of Marco Tasso to the role of Executive Vice President and CEO, Global Lottery and the upcoming departure of Renato Ascoli.
