The largest provider of games of chance in the Netherlands, the Nederlandse Loterij (the Dutch Lottery), strengthened its team with the appointment of an experienced executive.
The Dutch Lottery appointed Ageeth Bakker to the strategic role of Chief Financial and Risk Officer (CFRO).
Joining the Nederlandse Loterij, she will play a central role in the daily management of the largest gambling operator in the Netherlands.
She will oversee strategic processes and collaborate with the lottery’s CCO, Arno de Jong, CTIO, Maartje Geven and CEO Arjan Blok, among other senior-level executives.
Bakker brings significant experience after holding a number of senior-level management roles.
Throughout her career, she also held positions in risk and financial management.
Upon announcing Bakker’s appointment, the Nederlandse Loterij confirmed that she will assume her CFRO role, effective November 1, 2026.
"What particularly appeals to me in the Dutch Lottery is the combination of a strong social mission and a leading position in the gambling sector," Bakker commented, Casino Guru News learned from a press release.
"With ten trusted brands, Dutch Lottery offers players a safe and responsible range of lotteries and online games of chance, the proceeds of which benefit society. I would like to contribute to that," the upcoming CFRO added.
Last but not least, Bakker said she is looking forward to helping the Nederlandse Loterij continue to grow and increase the contributions to social causes.
Raymond Knops, the Dutch Lottery’s Chairman of the Supervisory Board, was similarly excited.
He welcomed Bakker to the Supervisory Board, highlighting her professional background.
"Her extensive expertise in finance and risk and a career in regulated sectors fit perfectly with this management position," Knops added.
Finally, the executive pointed out: "With the arrival of Ageeth Bakker, the board is at full strength to further realize the strategic ambitions of the Dutch Lottery, as the most responsible gambling provider and the biggest driver of sports and exercise."
In 2019, Bakker joined Bovemij Group and has since served as CFRO and a member of its board of directors.
Ahead of her appointment at the Nederlandse Loterij, she confirmed her resignation from that role.
Her professional background includes C-suite roles at Onderlinge Waarborggroep as well as Achmea Group, among other notable businesses.
