The recognizable gaming and entertainment company, MGM Resorts International, announced a new appointment, strengthening its Board of Directors.
This week, the company confirmed it selected the NBCUniversal Entertainment and Studios' executive, Dame Donna Langley, to become the newest member of its board.
Joining the company's Board of Directors, the executive becomes its 13th member.
While Langley will serve the Board, delivering unique perspective and advice, she will retain her senior-level role at NBCUniversal, the award-winning film and television studios.
Sharing her excitement, Langley spoke about MGM Resorts' leadership position in live entertainment, gaming and hospitality.
"Joining their board as they continue to ideate and innovate on best-in-class experiences for multi-generational audiences is an exciting challenge I'm delighted to take on with my fellow board members and the incredible management team," the newest member of the Board of Directors explained.
Bill Hornbuckle, MGM Resorts' CEO and President, welcomed Langley to the company's Board. He added that the company is looking forward to collaborating with the executive who brings solid experience, and a unique skill set.
According to Hornbuckle, Langley will help the company in its goal to "continue developing and producing our own proprietary sports and entertainment content for our guests."
Finally, MGM Resorts' President and CEO explained: "Donna is globally recognized as an innovative and influential leader with a special skill for reshaping industries, invigorating brands and leading organizations through change. She will be a tremendous asset to our executive team at MGM Resorts."
Paul Salem, MGM Resorts' Chair of the Board of Directors, shared the positive vibe and acknowledged that Langley represents a major asset to the company's Board.
"Her entertainment background and experience, especially in areas like content strategy, programming, distribution and marketing, will be invaluable as she offers her guidance to the Company and its leaders," Salem added.
Langley is a proven leader with a track record in entertainment, media and television.
In 2024, she was recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the "100 Most Influential People."
Her honors include an addition on the "100 Most Powerful Women in Business" list by Fortune Magazine, as well as CNBC's Changemakers.
Langley's long list of recognitions includes an addition to Business Insider's "10 People of Transforming Business" list, while she was also named on the "Entertainment Power 100" list by Hollywood Reporter.
