Light & Wonder, one of the world’s foremost manufacturers of land-based and online casino games, has picked a new top person for its iGaming division. The company has appointed Simon Johnson as the new Chief Executive Officer of the arm.
As part of his new job, Johnson will work directly under Light & Wonder President and CEO Matt Wilson, and he will be a part of the company’s Executive Leadership Plan. Johnson is a fitting pick, following Dylan Slaney’s decision, the previous man on the job, to leave the company in November.
Johnson is an important part of the company’s success story. He has been around since 2017 when he joined to help steer the company’s international commercial efforts and later progressed to SVP and International Managing Director, a position he will now leave behind to fulfil his duties as chief executive.
Light & Wonder has undergone several strategic appointments in recent weeks, with the company Glenn Huybrecht appointed as VP and managing director for Asia, and Ken Jolly assuming the position of VP of strategic development for Asia.
Light & Wonder recently announced a flagship deal with Norwegian Cruise Line, installing gaming machines aboard its ships, and even making available progressive area jackpots.
