Kurt D. Freedlund steps in as Senior Lottery Solutions Account Executive at GLI

Gaming Laboratories International, a global certification company that specializes in assessing and certifying the offers of gaming and lottery companies across the world, has appointed Kurt D. Freedlund as its new Senior Lottery Solutions Account Executive, Casino Guru News learned in an email press release.

GLI secures one of the biggest experts in the lottery business

In his new role, Freedlund will work closely with GLI’s lottery customers and help them garner insights into various important solutions that concern their lottery products and operations.

Freedlund is bringing consulting support, strategic partner, execution, procurement optimization, and business analysis to meet his responsibilities at GLI.

This is not a chance appointment either as Freedlund himself is a long-standing veteran in the lottery industry with plenty of relevant experience under his belt. Prior to joining GLI, Freedlund was the Chief Executive of KFD Consulting & Solutions, which was a company particularly specialized in offering insights to various lottery industry shareholders.

He has held similar stints across other companies as well, having worked as COO & General Counsel for the Georgia Lottery Corporation and has been part of the Mega Millions Consortium where he helped create and set up the cross-selling initiative between the Powerball and Mega Millions.

Freedlund similarly held another high-profile job as part of the Illinois Lottery where he served as Executive Deputy Director & General Counsel, where he also was the designated lead counsel that help establish the Big Game, which has since been renamed to the more popular moniker, Mega Millions.

On balance, Freedlund is one of the most influential figures in modern-day lottery operations, and he has honed his expertise and knowledge across various important stints within the industry, leading to a wealth of experience that proves invaluable to any company that would have him.

An outspoken lottery industry insider

Another relevant position that Freedlund held includes his involvement as President of LottoInteractive Inc. and he himself was an outspoken advocate for the rejection of the Restore the Wire Act legislation in Washington D.C. Overall, Freedlund’s name is synonymous with the lottery industry and his stature within the community is one of a venerated mandarin who understand the business inside out.

His BS in Political Science and History from Northwestern University and Juris Doctor degree from the Northwestern University of School of Law are only contributing to reaffirm his status as a knowledgeable and capable industry executive, and one who has helped shape much of the lottery business as we know it today.

The news of the new appointment comes shortly after GLI was certified in Peru, able to offer testing services to local gaming entities.
